The following are questions that have been sent in by members or were unanswered at scheduled meetings.

1.  On an Epson printer, the ink metering graphics appears, but the cartridges are greyed out and do not show the ink level.
    Close down any background programs that may be running.(except windows explorer and systray). follow the steps below----
        (1) Insert the epson CD into the DD ROM drive, and double click MY COMPUTER  icon.
        (2) Double the epson CD ROM drive, and then double click the DRIVERS folder.
        (3) Double click the STM3 folder.
        (4) Double click the STMSETUP icon.
        (5) Follow the prompts to complete the installation.

2.    What is the difference between CD & DVD Drive ratings?
        (1) Drive ratings are based on data transfer rate, or the maximum rate in KBps(kilobytes per second0 at which a drive can read or burn data to or from a CD or DVD.
        (2) For a CD, such as 12X, the transfer rate is 12 times 150 KBps.
        (3) fOR A DVD that is 4X, the transfer rate is 4 times 1350KBps.
        NOTE: in (2)&(3) above if you know the transfer rate, simply reverse the process by dividing the applicable rate by either 150KBps(CD) or 1350KBps(DVD)

3.    I accidently deleted "Windows Explorer" from my "START"--"PROGRAMS" listing. How do I bring up "Windows Explorer" and can it be recovered?
        (1) If your keyboard has a "WINDOWS" hot key; hold it down and press "E". This will execute "Windows Explorer".
        (2) To replace "Windows Explorer", click "START--SETTINGS--TASKBAR SETTINGS&START MENU". Click "ADD"; Browse to "C:\windows\explorer.exe". Click "NEXT" twiceand by typing, replace "explorer.exe" with "Windows Explorer". Click "FINISH" and Windows Explorer has beed restored.
        NOTE: Any missind or desired addition to the program listing can be replaced or added in this fashion.

4.    I have a P2P natwork of 3 computers. Between several computer pairs the transfer of files is extremely slow. What can I do to speed it up?
        (1) Check to see if the network protocal NETBUI is installed. If not, install it along with the existing TCP/IP and this should help.
